Bio

My name is Megan Batchelor, I graduated from Richlands High School. During my junior and senior year, I shadowed the Lead Exceptional Teacher for my job ready class. As I attended college I worked in Onslow County for two years as a substitute teacher. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education at University of North Carolina Wilmington. Upon graduating from college I married by best friend. We have been married for five years.

I started my teaching career in Lenoir County as a Serious Emotionally Disabled Teacher at Banks Elementary.  After working at Banks for two years I began working at Richlands Primary School. I have worked at RPS as an Exceptional Children’s resource teacher for the past three years, the 2016-2017 school year will be my fourth year at RPS. I am currently serving as Lead EC Teacher and have done so for the past two years. I am very excited to be working in the community that gave so much to me when I was younger.

My mission is to help people with disabilities and mental health struggles be successful in society, make growth academically and provide my students with skills to impact their daily life. I enjoy finding resources to get my parents, students and acquaintances plugged into so they can get the help and support they need to be successful.
