I graduated from Richlands High School in 1991 and continued my education at  Lenoir Community College where I obtained my Associates Degree.  I begin working with Onslow County Schools in 1998 where I served as a Teacher's Assistant for 14 years.  I spent 7 years at Southwest Elementary School working with 2nd and 4th graders.  I transfered to RPS the year my son started school here.  I taught CUBS-Character Education as a TA here at RPS while I finished my education at East Carolina University.  I obtained my Batchelor's Degree in 2012 and began teaching 1st grade immediately following my internship.  I came back to RPS in 2013 and this is my 4th year teaching Kindergartern.

I married my high school sweetheart, Stevie and we have been married 24 years.  I have two boys, Chase and Caleb.  Chase is 17 and Caleb is 12.  I have two cats, Ava and Scooter. My husband and I love going on cruises.  I am a member of Gospel Chapel First Church of God and I love singing.  My hobbies are scrapbooking and reading.  My favorite color is purple, I collect jewelry, and I love sweet tea.

Personal Mission:  I am at my best when I am working with children.  I will try to prevent times when I am tired.  I will enjoy my work by teaching others to love learning.  I will find enjoyment in my personal life through cruising.  I will find opportunities to use my natural talents and gifts such as singing, crafting, and communicating.  I can do anything I set my mind to and will be the best teacher I can be.  My life's journey is showing children that learning can be fun and rewarding.  I will be a person who is fun and energetic with a contagious laugh.  My most important future contribution is to develop a love of reading.  I will strive to incorporate the following attributes into my life: teaching, leading, and listenting.  I will constantly renew myself by focusing on the four deminsions of my life: laughter, prayer, rest, and communication.
