B.A in Education and Reading

The 2016-2017 school year begins my 25th year of teaching. I began teaching at Clyde Erwin Elementary school where I worked for 5 years.  I then moved to Richlands Elementary School and worked there until Richlands Primary School opened in 2001.   I am a National Board Certified Teacher.

I am a native of Richlands. I attended Richlands Elementary School, Trexler Middle School, and Richlands High School.  I never thought that I would love teaching in my hometown so much, but I must say what a joy it is.  How fascinating to meet the children of my old classmates as well as those of people that have chosen our wonderful town as their home.

I have been married to another Richlands native, Randy Baysden, for 28 years now.  We have two fabulous children and  a wonderful  son-in-law.  Our daughter Haley was  married  to  Alex, a  United  States Marine in October of 2015. She is attending Lenoir Community College in pursuit of a nursing degree. Our son Logan is in his  second year at Coastal Carolina Community College with plans to become an electrical engineer. I am an avid reader and I strive daily to pass that love on to my students.
