Bio

My Personal Mission Statement:

To follow Christ, serve, nurture, and listen in order to be the example that I want to be.

I was born in Kinston, NC to Kay and Louis Tyndall of Pink Hill.My 3 kids Colleen, Bryant, and Davis and I live on my family's farm.  I have worked in an elementary school setting for 16 years.  I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.  I continued my education at East Carolina University and graduated in 2006 with a Master's degree in English with a concentration in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have taught in Lenoir and Johnston counties.

Teaching is my passion as I love to make it fun for kids! I want my class to be a place where leaders are born and kids want to be. When a student enters my doors, they become mine and there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do for them. We hug, smile, laugh, make mistakes, but most of all....we grow. We grow our minds, self esteem, and leadership skills.

My favorite thing to do when I get a rare "me time" is to read. I always have a book by the side of my bed. I enjoy scrapbooking, riding horses, family time on our boat, and doing genealogy. A quirky fact about me is that I love graveyards! I love looking at tombstones and seeing the names and inscriptions and pondering on the stories. I love life and  I love working with children and I look forward to a great school year!
